We’re beyond excited to announce that the Bermuda Society of Arts (BSoA) is preparing to launch our first-ever Summer Art Camp for young artists in 2025! Before we finalize everything, we want to make sure that this camp is tailored to what you and your child would love to experience.

At BSoA, we’re passionate about fostering creativity and artistic growth in Bermuda’s youth. Our camp is designed not only to teach foundational artistic techniques but also to nurture individual expression. Camp Themes & Weekly Breakdown

Each week of the camp is designed to focus on a different theme, ensuring that every camper has the chance to dive into a unique artistic experience. Here’s a sneak peek of what we’ll explore:

Week 1: Foundations First

Every great artist begins with the fundamentals! In this session, campers will explore essential skills like color theory, composition, perspective, and more. They’ll get their hands on a variety of materials, from pencils and charcoal to acrylic paints, learning how to build strong foundations for their future work. Expect to leave each day with a piece of art showcasing newfound skills.

Week 2: Crafting Hands

Get hands-on! This week is all about texture, form, and materials. Campers will explore tactile mediums such as paper crafts, clay sculpting, and mixed-media projects. With an emphasis on upcycling and reusing materials, they’ll also learn how to transform everyday objects into creative works of art.

Week 3: Art & the Inner Voice

Art is a powerful way to express our innermost thoughts. In this week, campers will focus on personal self-expression through abstract art, visual storytelling, and project work that reflects their own unique voices. Whether they express themselves through painting, drawing, or digital media, this is a week for pushing creative boundaries and discovering what makes their art personal and meaningful.

Week 4: Art You Can Wear

What’s cooler than creating art that you can wear? This session allows campers to explore the world of wearable art. Using fabric paints, embroidery, and other creative techniques, they’ll transform clothing, bags, shoes, and accessories into one-of-a-kind art pieces that are truly wearable.

Week 5: Art of Possibility

Where can art take you? This week, campers will explore careers in the arts—from graphic design and fashion design to animation and fine art. Guest speakers from various artistic fields will share insights, and hands-on activities will allow campers to imagine their future careers while learning practical skills and industry knowledge.

What’s Included?

  • Art Supplies Provided: All necessary materials (paint, brushes, canvas, fabric, clay, etc.) will be provided, so campers can focus on being creative without any stress about supplies.
  • Daily Art Creation: Campers will complete at least one art piece every day, showcasing their growth throughout the week. At the end of the camp, they’ll have a portfolio to be proud of!
  • Professional Instructors: Our experienced art educators are dedicated to supporting each camper’s individual journey, whether they’re just beginning or ready to take their skills to the next level.

Campers’ Artwork Featured in the Fall Member’s Show

At the end of each week, campers will have the opportunity to display their hard work in a special art showcase. But that’s not all—all art camp participants will be invited to exhibit their creations in the BSoA Fall Members’ Show, a prestigious event celebrating the incredible talent and creativity of our community.

This show will feature the artwork of not only seasoned artists but also the up-and-coming young artists from our summer camp. It’s an exciting opportunity for campers to share their work with family, friends, and the wider Bermuda art community, and see how their creativity has flourished throughout the summer.

We’ll provide a gallery space where campers can proudly display their finished pieces. Whether it’s their painting, sculpture, wearable art, or personal projects from camp, this exhibition will be a wonderful chance to celebrate their artistic journey.

The Fall Member’s Show is the perfect way to give your child a sense of accomplishment, pride, and recognition for all the hard work they’ve put into their creative projects over the summer.
