This work reflects a timeless search for meaning—for life, for existence. It charts a journey across vast internal and external landscapes, marked by the footprints of blood, sweat, and tears. It is a path toward recognizing our shared humanity, a reminder that we are all part of a greater whole—a single, interconnected human family. Only through unity and mutual acceptance can we move forward, each step renewed with purpose and strength.
We endure the warmth of the earth beneath us while seeking the flow of water—both as a life-sustaining element and a symbol of wisdom—to guide us toward the inexhaustible source of life itself. At its core, this work honors the enduring human spirit and the quiet, unwavering virtue of perseverance.
In these eternal migrations, we gather, regroup, interact, and coexist. Through these shared emotional journeys, we remember: we have been—and continue to be—parents and children, siblings, friends, partners, leaders, and followers. Together, we form the living foundation that upholds society and the intricate web of human relationships that sustains it.
Visiting this beautiful island has stirred a deep sense of passion and inspiration within me. Time here moves differently—fleeting for some, infinite for others. Reconnecting with the richness of its culture and the resilience of its people, brave in the face of daily trials, has brought me closer to the essence of my own ancestors.
From this reflection emerges the title of this exhibit: Caribbean Fusion. It is more than a meeting of color, form, and space. It is a celebration of the subtle, powerful connections that bind us as human beings—across borders, experiences, and time.
