GROUP ART SHOW TO BENEFIT VISION BERMUDA
Opens 13 December 2019 at BSOA
BSoA
KATHERINE ZUILL, KOK WAN LEE, EMMA INGHAM
For well known artists Katherine Zuill and Kok Wan Lee a joint at show seemed like an ideal opportunity to put theiri combined talents together to work for the benefit of the visually impaired in Bermuda
The Show, “Visual Dynamics”, opens on 13 December at the Bermuda Society of Art, City Hall. The idea for the Show grew from the artists desire to promote their work and at the same time to see their latest body of paintings do more than hang in a gallery. They felt there was a need to support Vision Bermuda (formerly known as Beacon House) with a portion from sales go to support this important service..
Kok Wan Lee chose to work with a theme of Tom Watson’s farm. His abstract paintings reflect the varied plantings: Lee captures edible plants, colourful vegetables and showy shrubs in paintings which are filled with colour, movement and excitement – together they make a glorious explosion of colour
Katherine Zuill draws on here seven generations of family artists; her innovative collage painttings offer a glimpse into her creative legacy as well as a view of the youthful excitement of her current family’s varied works.
A further note to the show will be provided by Emma Ingham who will be on hand for the opening night. She will be doing her popular ‘quick sketches’.
