At the heart of this exhibition is a father and son’s joint interest in creating work that bears some resemblance to the natural beauty found around them.
Through the practice of reassembling, repurposing and reusing materials and mediums, familiar and unfamiliar compositions are featured. The collection of work is an ode to Bermuda’s organic beauty and explores the relationships we have to nature while honouring the environment and materials that exist around us.
On display are the pair’s handcrafted exotic wood frames bearing compositions of local flora fossilised through Stratton’s concrete YART sculptures and Martin’s painted renditions of local flora and landscapes. Their work attempts to preserve the geometry, light and peaceful colors found throughout the island.
